The Capcom panel at NY Comic Con on Thursday began with a celebration for the 25th anniversary of Street Fighter. Their celebration consisted of a short video along with other limited edition 25th Anniversary Street Fighter Collector’s Edition with all the precious Games known to the franchise.
To date, Capcom has held tournaments celebrating their 25th anniversary worldwide which will include over $500,000 worth of cash, non-cash prizing, and amenities.
It is considered a high-stakes tournament series with the grand finals event held in San Francisco on Dec. 8, 2012. Preliminary tournaments are occurring worldwide and now in Japan; visit Capcom’s website for more details. The tournament series will feature the following monumental titles: Street Fighter X Tekken, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike Online Edition, and Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.
Capcom partnered with Scion, Five Axis and Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) to give the grand prize winner of the Street Fighter X Tekken tournament keys to an all-new custom designed Scion FR-S Sports Coupe. This one-of-a-kind Street Fighter-themed sports car includes a complete video entertainment hardware from SCEA and a modified exterior from Five Axis including a custom FIVE:AD aero kit, spoiler, wheels, as well as many more premiere components.
In addition, Yoshi Ono came himself to the Capcom to happily announced the revival of Darkstalkers with Darkstalkers Resurrection. According to Ono,he game will be released as a bundle pack two games, YouTube replay features, online community commentary, and more. Check out Darkstalkers Resurrection to be released early 2013!
