The NYU Game Center has partnered with the EVO Tournament to create a scholarship at New York University. The annually EVO Scholarship will be awarded to any applicant who best demonstrates an active participation in the fighting game community, an interest in game design with innovating idea for competitive games, and a legitimate financial need.

The fighting game community is known for its ethnic and socio-cultural diversity and in light of recent coverage of the community, it is made clear that the the FGC is an under represented gaming community. The EVO Scholarship can be the opportunity for a path into the game industry for underrepresented voices to bring new perspectives to the world of game design.

The scholarship is directly funded by anyone whom upgrades to premium stream at EVO.  Help NYU Game Center fund the scholarship by upgrading your EVO stream this weekend here.

Prospective students whom are interested in the scholarship should apply to the MFA program applications in the Fall. It is also advised to complete supplemental application about your involvement in the fighting game community. If you are a prospective undergraduate student, you should email gamecenter@nyu.edu to express interest in receiving the EVO scholarship for undergraduate studies.
